Been tough to find - But they were biting yesterday

Been tough to find - But they were biting yesterday

Couldn't believe she got up to fish.  It was a rare cool mid-April morning.
She dressed like it was winter.  Found them biting until about 9 am.  We got several good quality fiah.  Bite shut off after 9...so we went to chase smallies after.

Nice. Thanks for the report. Love the Hannah Montana pants. Did you get the stripers on bait or lures?

I wasn't wearing the Hannah Montana pants....she was cold that morning.

Those were my first stripers on bait this year....all were on lures or shad before last Sunday.  Heading out again this weekend to hit them again...I'll let you know.

Re: Been tough to find - But they were biting yesterday

Thanks for the report RH. Nice fish. I'm headed out this weekend and will fish thru next week. Hit the smallies last time out but definitely want to get in on stripers this trip.

My plan was to also hit the lower stretch of the river as there is some word they are starting to stage up. Never quite done as well in the lake proper on striper. Want to give that a shot too and figure it out better. I'll pass along a report to you and Drifter also. Good luck out there...

Re: Been tough to find - But they were biting yesterday

Went out this morning and fished the Havasu Springs area for a few hours. Started out bait fishing with anchovies for the first couple of hours....no bites. Moved to the shallows and found the smallmouth. Ended up catching a few and loosing a few. Saw some big ones but they didn't want to have anything to do with my lures. Caught them on flukes, crappie jigs, and one on a crawdad looking (brown & orange) jig.
